David Baldwin is an experienced educational leader with a passion for leadership, innovation, and collaboration. As Chief Executive Officer for Cognita Middle East, he has overseen the successful build of a new and growing region to 8 schools and over 10,000 students – including new school builds, acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Previously, David worked for Cognita UK as a Director of Education, with oversight of 13 schools in the UK in the capacity of Chair of Governors, School Improvement Partner, providing Quality Assurance oversight for all schools. 

Previously, David served as Principal of Horizon English School in Dubai, where he led the transformation of teaching and learning to achieve the school’s highest ever academic outcomes, together with a transformation of school culture. Under his leadership, the school was recognised and continues to be one of Dubai’s most admired private schools.

David has also held positions in various schools including Vice Principal at GEMS Jumeirah Primary School and Physical Education Teacher as well as being a qualified British Schools Overseas Inspector. David has also held roles in security logistics, construction, and hospitality. He graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Education and Physical Education and Qualified Teacher Status.

David’s visionary leadership and commitment to excellence has driven improvements across UK independent and international schools. He thrives on empowering teams and looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact on education.
