Pastoral Care

Pastoral care at Repton School underpins every aspect of school life. As a community, we understand that pastoral wellbeing is the most important aspect of a pupil’s development and we recognise that for our pupils to thrive they need to feel safe, fulfilled and above all happy. Our exceptional standard of pastoral care ensures that each student, at each stage of school life, has the confidence to contribute and succeed. This is achieved through a focused Personal Education programme, a wide range of extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities.

The Pastoral Team

The Pastoral Team in Repton School comprises senior teachers, a UK trained onsite doctor and nurses from the Medical Centre, a UK trained School Counsellor, Heads of Year, Form Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Support and Administration Staff, with every member of the school community shaping and developing the whole child and taking responsibility for the children in our care.

Your Child Is In Safe Hands

Safeguarding of all children is of paramount importance throughout the school and parents are encouraged to speak to any member of the pastoral team about any matters of concern, however small, regarding the health and welfare of their child.

At Repton, fostering the well-being of our pupils through a patient, positive and proactive pastoral care system is at the very heart of our ethos. Our experienced staff recognise how nurturing individual personal development and promoting happiness and well-being can enable students to thrive both academically and emotionally. We are immensely proud that our pastoral care has been routinely celebrated as ‘Outstanding’ by the KHDA over the past four years.

Pastoral Care Is At the Heart Of The School

Through Heads of Year, students are offered personalised academic guidance alongside a bespoke PSHCE programme to meet their individual needs. We also have a hugely successful House system that fosters the spirit of competition and community, creating numerous pupil and student leadership opportunities as well as collaboration between older and younger pupils.

We take great care to provide individual attention and to encourage our pupils to challenge themselves, to live by our shared values and to strive to be the very best person that they can be. Character and moral education is integral to our vision of the highest quality pastoral care and it is our genuine privilege to work closely with a wonderful community of pupils and their families, in this shared endeavour.
