Student Perspective: Life as a Boarder at Repton Dubai
What is it really like to live at school? On Eye on Education with Helen Farmer, Year 10 student and boarder Teymur Aghazada offered an honest look at his day-to-day life at Repton Dubai.
Teymur described the practical advantages of boarding, including the ease of settling into evening routines without the time lost to commuting. While he admitted that leaving his family in Saudi Arabia was his biggest challenge, he highlighted the strong friendships and “new family” atmosphere that quickly developed in the boarding house.
Sports, inter-school competitions, and weekend trips—like visits to Atlantis Aquaventure—add variety and fun to the experience. Boarding has also helped Teymur build time-management skills, independence, and responsibility.
For families considering boarding, his advice was clear: don’t be afraid of the initial adjustment. With a supportive community, boarding offers lifelong friendships, valuable skills, and memorable experiences. Looking ahead, Teymur hopes to study in the UK, where he can combine academics with his passion for sport.
