In a recent Eye on Education episode on Dubai Eye 103.8, host Helen Farmer spoke with Arhaan and Azlan, Sixth Form students at Repton Dubai, about their success at the H2 Grand Prix in Germany. Their team, Project Hydranova, designed and raced a hydrogen-powered car, representing the UAE and winning the Energy Award for efficiency.

They explained how the challenge was to balance hydrogen and battery usage over a six-hour endurance race, creating an algorithm that accurately predicted run times. The project brought together a 14-member team, with seven travelling to Germany and others supporting from Dubai.

Both students reflected on the excitement of competing internationally and spoke about how the experience strengthened their passion for STEM and sustainable technologies.
