Scholarships at Repton Dubai are awarded to pupils in Year 5 to Year 8, both to Internal and external candidates and are tenable for a pupil’s time at school, subject to high standards of behavior, performance and engagement in academic, musical and sporting activities. They are awarded at the discretion of the Headmaster. Upon the award of a scholarship, academic scholars are expected to remain hard working in their studies and demonstrate outstanding attainment. Music scholars should be prepared to support Repton School music performance groups and sports scholars should be available to represent school teams.
Scholarships, typically awarded at 10% of tuition fees, are offered in the following three areas:
Academic: awarded to pupils with the ability and commitment to be academic leaders at Repton. The school is looking for outstanding pupils, who are curious, inquisitive and enjoy their studies.
Music: awarded to talented musicians who are prepared to make a strong contribution to the Music Department at Repton, and prepared to support musical performance groups at the school.
Sport: awarded to pupils with strong sporting credentials, who will promote sportsmanship, team work, leadership and fair play, and who will be ambassadors for Repton sports teams.
How to apply?
As part of the application process, parents of internal and external candidates will be invited to provide evidence of their child’s academic, musical or sporting ability, such as representation and success in concerts or sports teams and sports competitions. For sports scholarships, priority will be given to internal and external candidates who demonstrate ability and support in team sports, over individual sports or performance.
The school writes to all parents of pupils in Year 4 – Year 7 in January of each academic year, including to parents of external pupils registered for a school place, for the following September. Parents of pupils who then wish to apply for these awards are invited to write, in the first instance to the Headmaster’s PA via firstname.lastname@example.org, making it clear for which award their child is applying, academic, sport or music. As part of the selection process, pupils applying for a sport or music award will be invited to visit the school for an interview / or audition, to demonstrate their ability.
The deadline for internal applications is typically the end of February each year, with awards being notified to parents by the end of the spring term.
