Repton Dubai students celebrate 100% pass rate in all IB Programmes

Repton School Dubai has achieved fantastic results in this year’s International Baccalaureate (IB) final assessments, with students attaining a record average score of 36.2 points in the IBDP programme alongside a 100% pass rate in the IBCP and IB Courses programmes.

This is the sixth year that students have achieved an average score above34 points. The outstanding performances by this year’s cohort have resulted in overwhelming offers from Russell Group institutions and some of the highest-ranking universities in the world, including The University of St Andrews, University College London, Emory University, Imperial College London, Georgia Institute of Technology and The University of Manchester, to name but a few.

Despite wavering industry-wide frustration resulting from the unfortunate cancellation of the IB examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Reptonians displayed first-class performances in their final internal assessments, reinforcing the Repton DNA of the relentless and rigorous pursuit of achieving academic excellence. This year, 27% of Repton Dubai students achieved 40 points or more in the Diploma programme.

David Cook, Headmaster at Repton Dubai and Chief Education Officer of the Repton Family of Schools in the UAE, expressed his elation on the students’ outstanding results: “At Repton Dubai, passion, dedication and determination are just some of the values we instil in our students right from an early age. Our teachers consist of passionate educators focused on developing the whole child, through academic, creative and sporting arenas. We encourage our students to dream big and provide them with the appropriate learning tools to achieve those dreams. This year, despite the overlying challenges, our students have once again persevered, scoring an average of36.2 points in the IB Diploma, which is well above the global benchmark. I would like to congratulate the graduating IB cohort on their progressive attainments and wish them the very best of luck in their future endeavours.”

Aspiring to become a psychologist, Head Girl, Pavani Duggal scored an outstanding 45 points and will head to the University of St Andrews to focus on her undergraduate Psychology studies. Inspired to make a difference in people’s lives, Ayesha Duhra gracefully received offers from Queen Mary University of London and Imperial College London, with the latter becoming her final destination to read medicine, upon attaining44 points. Furthermore, Maria Touma will study Medicine at St Andrews, following an exceptional 44 points achievement.

Repton Dubai particularly notes outstanding student Amrit Gill (44 points) who received offers from The University of Edinburgh, Durham University, The University of York to study Psychology and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London to study Dance Science. All of this alongside undertaking advanced ballet examinations, Harp assessments and learning Mandarin. Amrit will pursue her further education in Psychology and Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh.

Head Boy, Adam Nasser and Deputy Head Boy, Quddus Pativada have demonstrated the innovative spirit of this year’s graduates. The exceptionally talented and eager students have received offers from world-renowned universities, including the University of Warwick, UC Berkeley and University College London. The aspiring young entrepreneurs, however, have taken a bold decision to take a break year from formal education to focus on developing their ingenious start-up business, a smart learning platform, and further explore the intricacies of entrepreneurship.

It is also pleasing to note that Repton once again caters superbly for its local, Emirati student body. For example, it is exciting to state that Saud Qawam achieved a record-breaking 40 points in the Diploma programme and will head to Georgia Institute of Technology to study Aerospace engineering.

Repton School Dubai is proud to offer the IB Career-Related Programme to allow its students to focus upon their career aspirations more closely. This year, all students passed this rigorous course and 86% achieved the highest possible score of D*D* upon their BTEC Business studies. Outstanding achievements within this programme see Jamie Danks heading to Nottingham Trent University whilst Muhammad Siddique Ali Pirzada makes his way to Durham University.
