French Trip Blog Part 5
Wednesday, 26 May 2010: Don't worry, eat curry! - That quote was probably more popular then Miss Loten's quote of the day, which was "l'un pour tous et tous pour l'un!"
We started the day with a long train ride to Louis XIV castle in Versailles. The grounds were spectacular and the castle even better. Using our audio guides we made our way around the palace before heading down to the huge gardens. We found a lovely grassy filed and started multiple games of end Ball. Rain began to pour down and we willingly headed for shelter only for the rain to stop. We then spent some more time in the field before heading to some shopping. For dinner we headed to the Rani Mahal for an Indian dinner to finish off the day, much to some people's excitement.

Today we went to Versailles. The journey there took 3 trains - I think the group have now mastered the Metro. The Chateau is very impressive and the students all seemed to appreciate the opulence of this big palace. The beautiful building showed us lots of important French history. Some people found a shop selling delicious macaroons at the exit. We then strolled round the gardens stopping for lunch en route. Our guide found us a nice stretch of grass under some beautiful trees where we all played ball games. Not even the showers deterred the group's enthusiasm. Habiba and Maizer were the stars of the game with Bianca entertaining us with her interesting throwing style. From the Chateau we got the train back to Paris and then visited the Rue de Rivoli. Dinner was a delicious Halal Indian curry which everybody enjoyed.
Vic has made great progress with his basic French vocabulary, delighting everyone with his smile. Charles has probably taken more photos than anybody else, always showing an interest in everything he sees. Mr Bradley's French has stepped up a gear and he now understands when he is being teased by our guide Bruno.
