Senior School Library

Welcome to the Senior School Library and Media Centre

Although primarily for the use of our Senior School pupils and staff, we are happy to extend borrowing privileges to our Junior School pupils upon request.  We are open throughout the day and pupils and staff are most welcome at any time, whether it is to curl up with a good book, to complete schoolwork or to simply unwind and relax.

With over 5,000 titles on our non-fiction shelves and subscriptions to over 30 periodicals our collection has been tailored to meet the needs of our curriculum and to provide excellent resource materials for a wide spectrum of subjects.   Our fiction section incorporates popular fiction, world literature and classics and we have recently introduced Kindle eBook readers which are available for pupils to borrow for a period of 2 weeks*.  A list of titles available on the Kindle can be found on our Destiny Quest home page. A selection of films, documentaries and music CDs are available for loan from our audiovisual sections.

The library currently operates on Follett Destiny software which allows pupils to not only review and manage their own library accounts, but  also to quickly and efficiently  access over 100,000 research websites and 18 online databases* through the ‘Webpath Express’ and ‘One Search’ options.  To facilitate online research, the library currently has 24 wireless laptops and 7 desktops available for use by pupils.  These laptops can also be used in the classroom if previously booked by a member of staff.

Parents are welcome to visit the library at any time to review our facilities.
