Michael Cooper
Head of Art
My name is Michael Cooper and I am Head of Art for the Repton Senior School.
I am joining Repton Dubai having taught Art at Ardingly College in the United Kingdom. As a ceramicist I have exhibited widely and regularly contributed to art journals, including being selected as Best Graduates 2001 in Ceramic Review.
My work in the Brighton Art Festivals has been particularly well received. In addition to a love of ceramics, I am interested in contemporary art, especially the work of Cornelia Parker and Grayson Perry.
I have been very fortunate to experience teaching art to both school age students and have mentored and lectured in the initial teacher training programmes. This will enable me to offer a wide variety of activities for art students. I have travelled widely and have led school expeditions to The Gambia, the USA and Europe.
I am very enthusiastic about the challenge of building a modern department in Repton School.
