Repton Students at GESS Show with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Last week three Repton Dubai pupils (Khalid Al Khateri, Ahmed El –Sebaie, and Jairaj Ravrani)  visited the ‘Gulf Education Solutions and Supplies’ Trade Show at the Dubai Airport Expo accompanied by Mr Ballard and Mr Shaw. They had been invited to spend time with Edutech, the company behind the ‘Scalextric 4 Schools’ project currently being run as an activity by the D&T department. On the day the pupils and staff also had the opportunity to meet Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as part of a pre-arraigned visit to the Scalextric 4 Schools stand.

In partnership with Edutec, it is hoped that the Repton Dubai Design & Technology Department will become a hub for Scaletric in schools in the UAE. Scalextric in schools is a project where pupils design and create their very own Scalextric car and race it against other schools from all over the region and eventually even other parts of the world.
