Rules and Regulations

 

• The Library is primarily intended for the use of Repton Senior School staff and students.  Borrowing privileges can be extended to the students and staff of Repton Junior School upon request.


• Any resources borrowed from the library are the sole responsibility of the student/member of staff. All resources must be returned by the date indicated and in good condition. Failure to do so will result in a fine being incurred. 

• Fines will be charged on all resources that are not returned by the date indicated.

• The following lending rules apply:

• The Library is an area of quiet study/reading and consideration must be given at all times to other library users. Any library user found to be acting in a disruptive or abusive manner will be asked to leave immediately.

• The use of mobile phones, iPods and other personal stereo equipment is not permitted in the Library.

• Staff and students are permitted to use the Library PCs or their own laptop to connect to the school’s network.

• Staff and students must abide at all times by the school’s regulations regarding use of PCs within the school environs.  Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal or restriction of usage.

• Library users are permitted to use the school’s photocopiers, although prior permission must be obtained for colour printing.  Anyone using the Library photocopiers must obey current UK copyright law, a guidance to which is clearly displayed by the photocopiers.

• Food and drink is not permitted in the Library.  Water is available at a dispenser outside the Library entrance.

• Bags are permitted in the Library but are the sole responsibility of the owner and must be removed at the end of the session.  The Library does not accept any responsibility for the loss of unattended items.

• The use of bags and coats to reserve study space is not permitted.

• Library staff reserve the right to inspect any bag or resource being taken out of the library.  If the theft detention system is activated when a user leaves the library they are to return immediately to a member of the library staff in order for the appropriate checks to be made.

• The Head of Library reserves the right to restrict access to library facilities to users in breach of any of the Rules set out above.  Anyone found to be tampering with or damaging someone else’s property (including Library property) or acting in an abusive or disruptive manner will be reported to the appropriate authority.
