Pastoral Care

Head of Pastoral Care

Mrs. Susan Marsden is responsible for the welfare, safety and well-being of our pupils from Foundation through and into the Prep Department.

Mrs. Marsden has enjoyed a long association with prep schools and is a fervent advocate of all that this established form of education has to offer. Previously, Mrs. Marsden worked at a prep school in North West London for 13 years where she was Head of Year Four and the Deputy Head of the Junior School. Both her son and daughter have been successfully educated in prep schools and public schools which, like Repton in Derbyshire, have been established for many hundreds of years.

Mrs. Marsden previously lived in Dubai for five and a half years, returning to the Middle East to join Repton in 2008 to help develop the prep school ethos, but also to enjoy a part of the world for which she has a deep affinity and interest.
Over the past three years, Mrs. Marsden has enjoyed teaching the children and working with parents in her role as Head of Year 4. Now, in her position as Head of Pastoral Care, she hopes to play a full part in the life of the school community, looking after the children and their families and further developing pastoral support.

Mrs. Marsden is a strong advocate of communication and encourages children, parents and staff to engage in open, honest discussion in order to assist every child in the realisation of their academic potential and social and emotional wellbeing.

Building on the theory that it is better to discuss something before it becomes a problem, Mrs. Marsden’s door is always open to parents and children. She also looks forward to meeting you at open mornings, concerts, plays and assemblies.
