Year Group Camps and Expeditions
Year 3 Foundation Camp
Pupils take part in a two day overnight adventure camp on the outskirts of Dhaid. The focus is on developing the fundamentals of Outdoor Ed including camping in tents, kit management, identifying flora and fauna and peer bonding.
Year 4 Multi Adventure Camp
A three day camp, building on the knowledge and skills established in Year 3, pupils will gain greater confidence by tackling the high ropes course and learning to paddle their own kayak in the Kalba mangroves. There is an emphasis on team work and self reliance.
Year 5 Field Studies Camp
Pupils take part in a two day field studies residential camp. The camp provides excellent opportunities for a wide range of practical scientific tasks with all the fun of being on camp.
Year 6 Field Studies Camp
A three day field studies camp enabling pupils to focus on both Mangrove, desert and wadi biomes. Using the field study centre as a base, pupils are transported to a variety of locations to study the habitats and ecosystems of the UAE.
Year 7 Multi Adventure Camp with Bushcraft
A three day adventure camp with a strong focus on self reliance, decision making, conflict resolution and team work. Pupils experience a range of outdoor pursuits including raft building, canoeing, orienteering, archery and high ropes courses.
Year 8 Survival Camp
Pupils are challenged with a survival edge to the Year 8 camp. Using a traditional dhow pupils are transported to a remote beach on the Mussandam Peninsula where they are taught a series of survival skills which they are then able to put into practice.
Year 9 Sailing Expedition
Using a traditional Turkish gullet complete with main sail, pupils are taught a series of skills to enable them to crew the ship including navigating their way around the northern tip of the Mussandam peninsula. Overnight pupils setup camps on remote beaches and are required to cook and prepare their own food.
Year 12 Leadership Camp
The Year 12 Leadership Camp takes place in an adventurous context fostering not only leadership skills but also, self reliance, decision making abilities, self confidence, time management, conflict resolution and team work to name but a few.
During the trip pupils spend one night in the mountains at a remote campsite and two nights at a desert camp near Dhaid.>
Year 13 Leavers’ Challenge

Boarders Camp
The boarder’s camp provides a great opportunity for the whole House to bond together on a fun adventure weekend. Activities include tackling the high ropes course, abseiling down a 40ft tower and canoeing through the East coast’s mangroves.
