Medical Provision

Children with special medical conditions or who require monitoring and medication are well provided for at Repton School. Parents can consult with the School’s medical staff about specific concerns or a child’s requirements. It is essential for the School to have access to a student’s medical details in case he or she is taken ill or injured at school. Parents are asked to complete the Medical Form and return it to the medical centre at least one month prior to arrival at the School.

The School conforms to all the stipulated health and safety standards and all staff are familiar with first aid basics. The medical centre will provide twenty-four hour nursing cover for boarders who are unwell. However, day students, who are taken ill at school, will be cared for until they are fit enough to return to class or their parents can be contacted and arrangements made for them to be collected and taken home.

The staff will also deal with minor ailments, e.g. headaches, during the morning and lunchtime breaks and, should the need arise, arrange transfer to one of the many local hospitals.

Repton School has a purpose-built medical centre staffed by qualified nurses, equipped to deal with illness or physical injuries.

Should a child require more advanced medical attention, the nursing staff will arrange for a transfer to the nearest medical facilities and will contact the parents or guardians.A physiotherapist is available to treat relevant injuries and a school counsellor is on hand to deal with any stress or trauma experienced by the children. The Medical Centre is also supported by frequent visits from a local doctor.
