Meals for Boarders

Meals for Boarders

The Catering Department’s main aim is to produce fresh, wholesome, nutritious and well balanced meals for all our boarders.  Meals are produced in our own kitchens and so we are in full control of all the ingredients used in the production of our school meals.  We strive to comply with all dietary requirements, and are currently totally nut free; if we need to cater for a specific case of dietary intolerance, we make a special effort to produce tailor made meals for the individuals concerned.  We use only fresh ingredients and do not utilise any ready- to- cook items.

Our Head Chef devises menus which provide health diets and he meets regularly with the Boarding staff to ensure that the food provided is appropriate to the needs of our pupils.  The pupils themselves also have an input into their menus, with regular Food Committee meetings which provide feedback to the Chef.

For boys, all meals are served in the Dining Hall.  Breakfast is served from 7 am so that boarders are ready in time for registration at 7.45 am.  Lunch is served from 12.30 and supper is at 6 pm.  In addition to this, all boarders are able to make themselves snacks in the House kitchens with bread, butter, milk, cereals, cheese and fruit always available.

The girls typically have their breakfast in the villa before travelling the short distance to school.  Lunch is taken with the other pupils and boarders at 12.30.  Depending on the day of the week, the girls may stay to have supper in the Dining Hall or may return to the villa for supper.   Again, snacks are available in the villa.
