Comfort Zone Art Exhibition

24th June 2009

Comfort Zone Art Exhibition
Date: Wednesday 24th June 2009
Time: Opening at 6:30pm
Location: The Arch, Repton School, D Block.

Repton School invites you to The Arch Gallery for the presentation of its latest exhibition “Comfort Zone”.

Repton School in Dubai presents “Comfort Zone”, a state of nirvana where all your needs are met and a feeling of tranquility and contentment overwhelms the senses.

The Arch at Repton School Dubai presents an exhibition of photography, prints and paintings by Michael Cooper and a selection of year nine students.

This selection of work represents states of well being.  Photography, screen-printing with watercolors, pen and ink drawings, and oil paints using raw canvas are used to create an effect of peace and serenity.

The exhibited pieces are themselves influenced by the work of Bill Viola and in particular, his life, birth and death series. A number of the exhibited artists also make reference to the Romantic Movement, most notably the work of Jean Honore Fragonard.

The exhibition explores mankind’s affinity with water and asks the viewer to consider their own relationship with this life giving force.

All are welcome to the event.  For more information or to RSVP please contact:
