Selection

Entry into Year 3 is similar to the procedure in the Infant School, with the addition of a series of small tests reflecting the requisite literacy and numeracy skills. From age 8, or entry into Year 4, all candidates are assessed by a combination of written exercises, practical tests and an individual interview.

All students who show the necessary promise and skills in the written and practical tests are invited for an interview held shortly afterwards.

The intention in the interview is to confirm the positive impression created by the candidate’s performance in the tests, and to enjoy a friendly discussion centred on the candidate’s previous educational experiences and impressions of Repton Dubai.

Terms and Conditions

All offers of a place at Repton Dubai are subject to agreement by parents, and students, where appropriate, to the school’s Standard Terms and Conditions and Parent Contract, copies of which are available from the Head and will be sent accompanying the offer letter.

The Interview

Everybody, irrespective of age, feels daunted by the prospect of an interview. We are only too well aware of this at Repton Dubai, particularly as so many of our interviewees are so young in age. The school does everything it can to make an interview as relaxed and comfortable as possible for the candidate.

We fully understand the pressure you, and your parents, feel. But please do relax. All we are looking for is to give you the opportunity to provide further evidence of your academic strengths and, possibly most important, to show where your interests and activities might make a contribution to the general life of the school. You may well be asked to prepare a topic of interest to you, which can be discussed at the interview.
