ZUBAIR MIR

Zubair Mir is a Partner at the international law firm Herbert Smith LLP and has been based in the Middle East for nine years. He is admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales and as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia.

Zubair leads Herbert Smith's Middle East corporate/private equity team and specialises in M&A, private equity and asset management. Zubair has been distinguished as one of "the World's 25 Pre-eminent Islamic Finance Practitioners" by Expert Guides 2009 – Best of the Best and as "Leading Lawyer for Islamic Corporate Finance and Shari'ah Investment Funds" by Islamic Finance News Leading Lawyers 2009. He was previously named by Private Equity International as one of "The 30 Most Influential Lawyers in Global Private Equity". Zubair was also named by "The Practical Law Company" as the leading investment funds lawyer in the UAE in its publication "Investment Funds – The Law and Leading Lawyers Worldwide 2008".

Zubair resides with his wife and two children in Dubai and has previously lived and worked in Melbourne, London and the Kingdom of Bahrain. His children attend Repton- Dubai.

Zubair was educated at Essendon Grammar School in Victoria, Australia and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Bond University and a Bachelor of Business (Dist.) from Victoria University.
